Shirdi Sai Baba Centre, Kuala Lampur


Performed memorable concerts at Lebuh Ampang, Kuala Lumpur and Klang in Malaysia under the auspices of Shirdi Sai Baba Temples. Remarkable audience turn out....they were very enthusuastic and gave several requests (ragas, songs etc). I was truly lucky to get the blessings of Shirdi Sai and sing amidst his earnest devotees..

I also did some sightseeing with my family... Batu Caves, KL Bird Park, Petronas towers, crazy shopping at the Sunway pyramid and Petaling Street, uber-crazy time at the Sunway lagoon (water, amusement, scream, wildlife and xtreme parks!!).. nice way to unwind and have pure fun...

Back in Chennai now..it's hottt!!

    It is a pleasure to listen your music. I’m writing this from Canada. I had a chance to watch you Issai Payanam. It’s a great work. Specially for kids who is learning music. My 11 year old son learning flute, he can now play ragam so he is your fan
    and right after he finish flute lesson, he comes home and be with his lap top looking for the ragam in your issai payanam program.
    I’m very happy to share this with you. I wish you all the very best in your life and do more to music world we are part of your journey. When you have time I really appreciate if you could reply to my email and I can show it to my son. One more thing he just got to know to day Amma enralikatha song is in Kalyani raagam. He tried to play in flute as todays is Mothers Day.

    I'm a beginer for carnatic violn music.Your analysis on raaga's for jaya tv is prooving to be a great material for me,It helps me as a grip to carnatic music.I understand you are increadible singer ,so u hardly might have time to respond.I just wanna make a little request.Can you please do the same analysis for all melakartha raagas?? it will be great help and material for beginers like me.. :)

I have to identify it!!!!

Dear Rasika, The wonderful thing about Ragas in the Indian Classical music system is that they are unique, and each one of them have something that is typically only associated with them, that which is irreplaceable. It is easy to fool an average listener in a little game of "Identify the raga" in a post-dinner Carnatic music party, and chuckle as he identifies a Sri raga as a Madhyamavati or a Pharas as a Mayamalavagowla..but how many of us self-confessed aficionados of this great system really have a fool-proof method of unambiguously identifying, each time, every time, the raga correctly? I doubt very many of us do, and this includes the smug critic or the know-it-all mama-mami duo next door.
